Truck Parts & Service Writer – Customer Support Representative
Do you have experience working with Heavy Duty Truck Parts and Service? Are you looking for a good new opportunity? We would like to talk with you! A technical background with engines or transmissions will be helpful.
In this role Service & Parts Customer Support Rep will Interpret customer needs on telephone or in person to fulfill the parts and service needs of the customer – as determined by the customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Open and close parts and service tickets for both warranty and customer pay invoices.
  • Responsible for storing, locating, and readying parts for shipment to internal and external customers, including return of warranty parts and cores.
  • Talks with customers by phone or in person to identify parts and/or service needs and sets those customers up with our scheduling system. Completes information, determines charges for service requested, and quotes labor and/or parts required by customer
  • Solicits sale of new or additional parts or services.
  • Reads parts and service manuals to ascertain type and specification of part.
  • Orders parts from vendors by mail, fax, telephone, or e-mail.
  • Compares invoices against purchase order to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received.
  • Utilizes computer system for entering and updating customer orders,
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, repair order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to write an accurate, descriptive and clear repair order for work to be performed. The employee is required to efficiently and accurately enter the order information into a specialized computer system, and effectively participate in self-directed work teams.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical background with engines or transmissions will be helpful.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to safely operate warehouse equipment including 2-wheel and 4-wheel carts, forklift truck, etc.
